Pink-washed cottages, half-timbered guildhalls ornate with carvings, enormous medieval churches and winding streets clustered with pargetted confections of houses. The Suffolk Wool Towns are the richest of legacies of bygone days of medieval merchants and manufacturing. Beautifully restored hamlets and villages line this very special walk which is steeped in history.

From Bildeston, you head to Hadleigh with its redbrick Deanery and magnificent spired church, then on to Lavenham, the most famous of the wool towns, via the picturesque village of Kersey where ducks paddle in the water-splash. On your return to Bildeston ,you take in part of the Brett Vale and the picturesque village of Chelsworth.

For your accommodation we’ve especially selected comfortable properties in charming and convenient locations.
